A Strawberry Tea Social Fundraiser in the Comox Valley is set for July 21 to assist those who need access to basic menstrual hygiene products and education.

The fundraiser is organized by Days for Girls and promises an afternoon of elegance and purpose, providing attendees with a unique opportunity to support a cause that resonates globally.

Days for Girls team members recently returned from a poignant distribution trip to Honduras, where they witnessed firsthand the stark realities faced by many menstruators: in communities lacking access to menstrual supplies, girls often miss school, face early marriage/pregnancies, and are vulnerable to significant health and safety risks.  Without basic menstrual hygiene products and education, these challenges perpetuate cycles of inequality and hardship.

Tickets are available for $35.00 each and there will be opportunities for sponsorship of sustainable menstrual kits and other fundraising activities.  One hundred per cent of the contributions will help to ensure that every menstruator has access to essential menstrual care and education. Everyone can empower individuals to stay in school, delay marriage/pregnancy and safeguard their health — transforming futures and breaking barriers.

The fundraiser is set from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Donations are graciously accepted to support our commitment further. For more information, to purchase advance tickets, sponsor our sustainable kits or to inquire about the event, contact us at 250-702-7927 or email comoxbc@daysforgirls.org.
