The 2024 Comox Bike Co YANA Ride is back, from Aug. 1 to 18, offering riders of all abilities and ages a chance to participate in the ride of the summer.

The annual event is an opportunity to enjoy every part of the Comox Valley pedals and wheels can take you while supporting YANA’s vital work at the same time.

Founded locally in 1986, YANA (You Are Not Alone) is a non-profit organization that helps Comox Valley families by providing travel funding and out-of-town accommodations whenever they need to travel out of the community to access medical care for a child or a pregnant mother.

The YANA Ride event offers participants the opportunity to register by donation of any amount. Then, starting Aug.1, every rider gets to choose a challenge that’s perfect for them. They can track distance, time, number of trails, or communities ridden in, all while collecting pledges along the way.

“The community's unwavering support for one another year after year is so inspiring. This generosity is what allows YANA to offer peace of mind to families carrying the burden of travelling for medical care, ensuring their children and pregnant mothers get the healthcare they need. We can’t wait to see our riders’ creativity and generosity in full force through another amazing Ride this year,” shares YANA executive director, Kelly Barnie.

Riders and supporters will reunite for the annual Party in the Park set for Aug. 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Comox Marina Park. All are invited to participate in this lively event featuring finish line and fundraising prizes, a beer garden and seaside snacks, activities and attractions for all ages, and the sights and sounds of local artists and musicians filling the air.

The day will include a massive 50/50 raffle, a golf ball drop offering $5,000 in cash prizes, and various giveaways and draws throughout the day.

To register, sponsor a rider, buy 50/50 and raffle tickets, or for more information about the Comox Bike Co. YANA Ride, visit yanacomoxvalley.com.
