THERE’S ONLY A FEW days left to purchase early-bird tickets for the Big Time Out this August in Cumberland.

The Big Time Out’s super-early bird tickets are disappearing on June 14, and the festival’s crew wants to make sure you can cash in on the deal.

The event, which returns August 12 and 13 to the Village Park in Cumberland, is offering up two-day passes for just $70 at thebigtimeout.com only for the next few days and only available online.

This year’s musical line up continues The Big Time Out’s streak of blending established and up-and-coming acts from every corner of the music world. At first glance, The Big Time Out’s line ups always seem like odd combinations: radio-friendly pop acts, laptop superstars, folky songwriters, beat boxers and DJs.  Spend a few minutes diving into the sights and sounds at thebigtimeout.com and you’ll see how these varied styles fit so well together.

Bedouin Soundclash, a name that evokes sun-drenched beach parties from the summer of 2005, is one of the bands to watch this year.  After a much-discussed hiatus, the band has been reborn.

True to their name they’ve been mining and combining sounds from around the world and adding them to their infectious reggae base creating a critically-acclaimed new album in the process.

The big surprise at The Big Time Out last year was Kim Churchill, an Aussie guitarist and singer with beach sand in his guitar case. His one-man show blew away the entire field in 2010 and festival-goers demanded his return in 2011.

Beat boxer Dub FX is a phenomenon.  Armed with just a microphone and an effects unit he creates sonic symphonies on street corners and stages around the world.

These are just three of the dozen or so acts that will be coming together to make up this year’s event. You can preview the bands and buy super early bird two-day tickets for just $70 until June 14 at thebigtimeout.com.
