Christmas at Crown Isle returns on Friday, Dec. 1 with its Gingerbread Village and Teddy Bear Basket Auction.
Local community members and businesses work together each year to create dozens of gingerbread creations and luxurious gift baskets to auction off in support of local charities.
Now in its 22nd year, the auction has featured gingerbread cabins, lighthouses, trees full of woodland creatures, even an Eiffel Tower and the Comox Valley Airport. This year’s entries will be on display in the Crown Isle Clubhouse Dec. 1- 21. Gingerbread Village silent auction bidding will be in person in the clubhouse.
Also on display will be the Teddy Bear Baskets. Place your bids on everything from food and wine, vacation getaways, home services to pet treats and spa packages. People can place bids on their favourite baskets online at crownisle.com so bidders can easily keep track of their items and be alerted when they are outbid.
The festivities will conclude with a live auction event on the evening of Dec. 21. This will be the final opportunity to win your dream basket.
New this year, there will be prizes for the People’s Choice Top 3 Gingerbread Creations and the Top 3 Teddy Bear Baskets.
Winners will be announced at the live auction event.
1st Prize - 1 night Resort Stay including golf & cart (for 2)
2nd Prize - Golf for 2 with cart
3rd Prize - $100 Resort gift certificate
This year inside the Crown Isle clubhouse a beautifully decorated 30-foot-high Christmas tree will be on display along with the Gingerbread Village and Teddy Bear Baskets. The Crown Isle grounds will be a spectacle of lights, and Christmas fun. Celebrate the season with family and friends by taking a stroll throughout the resort and end up in the Timber Room for a hot drink, an appetizer, or dinner.
Christmas at Crown Isle raises much-needed funds to benefit MARS Wildlife Rescue, LUSH Valley, and Care-A-Van.
Again, this year organizers are seeking entries for both the gingerbread village and teddy bear baskets.
