The Courtenay Fire Department responded to a fire in the 1500 block of McPhee Avenue on March 4, shortly after 1:30 p.m.
“Crews arrived to find an RV fully involved in fire,” said Fire Chief Kurt MacDonald. “The RV was destroyed, and the adjacent building sustained some minor damage where vinyl siding melted due to radiant heat.”
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
“One individual sustained burns to their forearm and was assessed and treated on scene by BCEHS,” said MacDonald. “There were no other reported injuries.”
MacDonald said that the fire did not result in any damage to neighbouring businesses.
