The Comox Valley Glacier Kings don't play the Campbell River Storm again until Dec. 16. And that suits them just fine.
The Yetis have lost three straight games to their Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League North Division rivals, including a pair this past weekend. The Storm swept the home-and-home doubleheader, edging the Icemen 7-6 in a shootout Friday night in Campbell River and prevailing 4-3 Saturday night in Courtenay.
On Nov. 4, Myles Powell (2), Colten Ruthven, Jackson Garrett, Kasey Ruel and Desmond Bast scored for the Glacier Kings in regulation time. There was no scoring in overtime, with the Storm outscoring the Yetis 2-1 in the shoot out.
On Nov. 5, Powell, Jed Martin and Michael Scobie tallied for the Kings (11-4-0-2), who remain in first place in the North Division while the Storm (6-11-0-0) appear poised to overtake Oceanside Generals (7-10-0-1) for second place.
The Yetis host league-leading Victoria Cougars this Friday and visit Kerry Park Islanders on Saturday.
