Donations for the 2023 #GalaxyGivesBack food bank fundraiser will be accepted from now until Dec.18th

As the festive season approaches, Galaxy Motors is steering into the spirit of giving with a heartwarming initiative – the #GalaxyGivesBack campaign.

This unique campaign combines the joy of driving with the warmth of community service, creating a powerful blend of holiday magic that aims to make a real difference in the lives of those in need.

From now until Dec. 18, all five Galaxy Motor locations and two RV locations from Courtenay to Victoria are collecting food bank donations for families in need, says Amy Jones, Chief Administrative Officer of Galaxy Motors.

Anyone able to donate is encouraged to drop off non-perishable items to the Galaxy Motors dealership nearest you, with the aim of completely filling the trunk of a car at each location with the following items:

  • Canned soup (mushroom, tomato, vegetable and chicken noodle)
  • Peanut butter and jam
  • Alternative milk (soy, almond, rice)
  • Pasta sauce/ noodles
  • Canned beans
  • Coffee
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Canned fruits
  • School snacks (granola pars, pudding, etc.)
  • Diapers
  • Ensure
  • Liquid laundry detergent

This year the automotive team is supporting five food banks in communities here in the Comox Valley and across Vancouver Island:

Colwood and Langford RV – Goldstream Food Bank

Duncan – Cowichan Valley Basket Society

Nanaimo – Loaves & Fishes

Courtenay – Comox Valley Food Bank

Parksville – RV Salvation Army

With an early start, the team will ensure the food is delivered before Christmas Day to the respective agencies.

As Galaxy Motors prepares for the big day, Jones is proud of the charitable work they do to help the communities that have supported them throughout the last 33 years.

“It’s just really important to give back and show care for the community that has helped us grow over the years,” Jones says. “Especially around this time of year when there’s need for warmth, compassion and a helping hand, Galaxy Motors is committed to spreading joy and making a meaningful impact in the lives of those who could use a little extra support.”
